Developmental and Growth Swing Scale
1. The first year is marked with an enormous interest to play golf. First year in contact with a golf club or golf equipment. Regular practice is the norm. Beginner golf clubs is advised. Golf instruction and golf swing aid (Phenom GM 2.0) are equally important at this time. Injuries are common. Misses are all over the place. It's in the menu. Peer pressure also plays an important role in learning. Massive data of information is being absorbed mentally. Golf instruction seem like a mountain to climb with fairly little golf knowledge.
2. Interest remain the same. Also motivated to keep practice regularly. Misses are still evident. A few swing improvement. A few success launching the ball in the air. A mix of hitting thin and fat. Hitting at the desired depth is inconsistent. Fairly picking a descent size divot at impact. Working with an instructor and practicing with a swing aid (Phenom GM 2.0) is still important. Somewhere at the later months of the year, the feeling of quitting may arise. Ambivalent feelings of quitting.
3. The third year is marked by noticeable ball flight. The ball is now airborne. Picking the golf ball at much better depth and divot at impact. A few rewarded pitch. A few rewarded swing and favorable ball contact but may forget remembering things. May develop a sound putting grip. It's not exactly well defined but good enough to adopt for practice. Misses like shank and slicing are still evident. Golf instruction is vital at this point for survival. Golf instructions learned should be retained fairly well to survive. The other side of it, quitting is more intense at this time. Fight or flight happens here. eDropouts happens here.
4. Has a decent pitch. Sound ball contact. May lack distance. May realize the agony of three putts. Maybe searching for a better putting technique. Misses are still in the mix. Shanking and slicing are less. Driving the ball maybe a fun thing to do. Develop a sound practice sessions. The body becomes stronger.
5. The pitch is sound and well. Decent drive. Good ball contact and a noticeable change in distance. Picking the golf ball nicely at near perfect depth and consistency. The body is definitely stronger. Misses are beginning to disappear. This is the pink cloud stage. The reward becomes fun and challenging. Might try on a few golf tricks. Less trying on golf swing. Feeling more euphoria and feeling relaxed. Misses on few things no big deal. Will develop green reading skills. Can read simple slope changes. Can fairly judge lengths of putts. The fun of playing the sport has finally set in. Immense pride of being able to play golf.
6. The act becomes intense and serious. The misses are rare. More likely to be disappearing. Good excellent pitch. Good decent driving overall. Hitting shots more on the center of the clubface. Can probably swing through the long irons. May struggle putting. Thinking of equipment change. A few moody notions. Swing aids (Phenom GM 2.0) are a good thing. They help. Is probably closer to scoring 90.
7. The pitch and drive are fairly good. May miss a few greens in regulation. Misses like shanks are rare. Almost none. Good caliber golf skills. Has regular tee times. Probably a decent club member. The body mechanics are more stable. Good bunker shots. Can probably swing all club in the bag. Some unhappy notions like lacking distance. Struggling with putting. Is probably improved the total score somewhere between 75-85.
8. This stage is marked by exceptional golf skills. Ranges from even par, scratch player and tour grade (TOUR) golf skills. This is the final and highest level of learning. The completion of learning how to play golf.

*Exceptional students can finish the developmental task on schedule or even earlier. Proficient students excel and capable of performing the task. Mental and motor skills are fully operational.
*Adding an extra activities like biking, hiking, tennis and more helps develop endurance and build stamina for more energy.
*Some of the skills they develop will evolve at a later time. Examples are length of the swing, swing accuracy and swing speed.
